What is the difference between Exhumation and Disinterment?

The terms exhumation and disinterment both refer to the process of digging up and removing a buried body, but they are often used in slightly different contexts or emphasize different aspects of the process.

Exhumation focuses on the act of bringing a buried body to the surface, usually for official, medical, or legal purposes. It is commonly associated with forensic investigations, autopsies, or criminal cases.

Disinterment is a broader term that simply means "to remove from a grave" without necessarily implying a specific purpose. It can refer to moving a body for any reason, such as relocating remains to another burial site or for historical study. This is slightly less formal than "exhumation" and might be used more in everyday or casual contexts.
