Funeral Processions and The Law

There are no state laws regarding funeral processions in New York. However, New York state vehicle and traffic laws do not exempt funeral processions from following traffic control signals, except for emergency vehicles. In order for a funeral procession to be exempt from following traffic signals, a traffic officer must be present to direct traffic.
